Manchester Ritz 21st May 2010

Delphic's closing gig of the tour. They were supported by Everything Everything, who were very professional (and loud - remember being reminded of a Motorhead gig when I was 14!) and have a really interesting sound.

When the lights went down, I was expecting Ephemera, but we got something altogether different before they started Clarion Call.

The version of Red Lights they did was the one which mixes into Submission. I love what they have done with this track live.

Halcyon was great, and Matt's guitar solo was brilliant as usual. People were crowdsurfing and taking advantage of the "bouncy floor".

When they went off after the wonderful Counterpoint, they had a very enthusiastic response with foot stamping and cheering.

When James came back on and announced that they had 2 more, I was hoping it would be Sanctuary, because they had hinted they might do this at the May shows, but instead it was Remain, which was a welcome surprise.

They finished with a triumphant performance of Acolyte. It was a great end to the tour and the guys enjoyed it a lot. Everyone who is seeing them at the festivals is in for a treat.
